Default good mother board/video card brands

I am currently in the market for a new mother baord, as my last one died 2 weeks after warrenty exspired(Damn u MSI and ur perfectly timed product faliure!!). Needless to say i will not be buying any more from MSI. Also as long as i'm at it i may as well upgrade from my old ATI Radeon 9200 graphics card. Both of the items should work with a P4 CPU (socket 478), and the baord should be ATX form factor. I need to stay within $300 or so for both items, so nothing too high end.

Thx for any help u can offer on this subject.

~Duke~

thx for the input, i was already thinking Asus, but i'm leaning more to nVidia, ATI used to be the best imo, but it seems that nvidia has taken the lead

With the new chipset and SLI (plus the help with ASUS), yeah. But prices can be higher at times.

ASUS for mother board

YOU CANT GET THE 7800 NVIDIA CHIPSET IN AGP

IF YOU ARE BUYING BOTH MOBO AND VIDEO CARD GO PCE- EXPRESS AS THE ONLY THING NOT COMPATABLE IS THE VIDEO CARD.
everything else swaps over

LEADTEK has a 3 year warranty and a good rep.

newegg.com for where to buy

Everyone else seems to have allready voiced my preferences...

Asus and ATI is what me, my room mate and all our friends use.
